The support provided by a doula varies for each birthing person and may involve tasks such as taking care of the new parent, providing newborn care, supporting breast-feeding, caring for siblings, preparing meals, doing light housework, running errands, or walking the dog. At the start of each shift, the doula evaluates the caregiver's most crucial needs for that day. Are you in need of a nap, shower, warm meal, or clean laundry?
